Gordon Scott being presented with the 2009 Club Championship trophy which he won aged just 14!

We are a thriving and successful chess club that welcomes new members of any standard and any age. Whether you are looking to play in competitions, wish to play socially, or looking to learn more about this fascinating game, you'll find our club will suit your needs.

We also have several active and successful junior teams including England squad players and the current British under-16 joint-champion.

As well as serious competitions and games, we organise many fun events and training sessions suitable for all abilities.

We meet most Tuesday nights throughout the year from 7.30pm at the INTO building on the UEA site, near Bluebell Lane, Norwich NR4 7TJ (view location). However please do contact us to confirm.

Norfolk and Norwich Club players clean sweep at the Norfolk Championships

Gordon Scott became the new Norfolk Champion on Sunday, joining Mike Gough, Ben Collinson and Stephen Orton as recent club members who have won the Championship. New member Adam Leach who won the Challengers section of our club championship, also won the Challengers Section of the Norfolk Championship, with an excellent score of 4.5/5.

2015 Club Championship results

Congratulations to Gordon Scott on winning the club championship for the third year in a row with 4½ points from 5. Stephen Orton was second with 4, and Ben Collinson third with 3½. New member Adam Leach won the Challengers section after a play-off with other new member Johnny Danger and David Moore, all of whom scored 3/5.
