Round 7 [Purton,Benjamin] [B14]

1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.exd5 cxd5 4.c4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Qb3 Bg7 7.cxd5 O-O 8.Be2 b6 Opts for the move which is considered second best, Best move here according to Aagaard and most experts who have surveyed the Panov is Nbd7, but this line is good also
9.Bf3 Bb7 10.Nge2 Qd7 Black aims to win the d5 pawn back and then gains equality, if not the advantage due to d4 being a IQP, however White can cling on to the pawn advantage until he needs to sack it with moves like d6!, this is common idea in g6 panov
11.h4 Novelty, the true intent of this move is not seen until later, it also aids Nf4 as g5 isnt an idea anymore. The key to this game is that fritz engines 1) dont understand and 2) if you leave them for ages there eval goes up
11...Na6 12.h5 Nc7 13.hxg6 hxg6 14.Nf4 Now the key to this position is that I have Nxg6 ideas
14...Qd6 15.Bd2 Rfd8 16.Rc1 Rac8 17.O-O g5 18.Nh5 Very risky move by me, fritz gives it around equal, I personally think im winning.
18...Nxh5 19.Bxh5 Bxd4 20.Bg4 e6 21.Bxg5! Amazing move
21...f6 I actually won this game on time, this is time scramble, what i played is in theroy bad as I am +1.50 on fritz and give back all the advantage Ne4 looks best here then Qxd5 Qxd5 and take pure pawn advantage and weak e6, however here i played a very agressive move which is hard to defend and he spent 18 minutes of his 21 minutes on this move!!
22.dxe6 Kg7 To his credit he found the best move
23.Ne2 Another grest move, sacrifice!, Look at the bishops of black, they are monsters as much as mine are, but this sack is very sound, gaining amazing f5 square for the N
23...fxg5 24.Ng3 Qd5 25.Qxd5 Rxd5 26.e7 Bc5 27.Bxc8 Bxc8 28.b4 Kf7 29.Rfe1 Bxb4 gave h im a chance but with 8 seconds for 11 moves....... he didnt have any chance
29...Ne6 30.bxc5 I think this is a beautiful game and probaly my greatest, it shows piece power is greater than material, and this opponent is a 2400 IM from Ukraine
